In domestic cricket, Assam star Rian Parag performed brilliantly in the quarter against Jammu & Kashmir yesterday. Batting first in the match at Ahmedabad, Jammu & Kashmir recorded a total of 350/7 in the 50 overs allotted. Chasing the Himalayan goal victory was thought to be out of reach for Assam but Rian Parag’s innings propelled the team to victory.
Parag shocked everyone by scoring 174 runs off just 116 balls off 12 fours and sixes each. Apart from Parag, the performance of Rishav Das scoring a century was also vital to Assam’s victory. With the batting excellence of these two players, Assam won with 23 balls to spare. Assam reached the semi-finals with the win and will face Maharashtra in the semi-finals. This match will be held in Ahmedabad on November 30th.
Parag in brilliant form
At the same time, Rian Parag is playing in great form in the 2022 edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Parag scored 537 runs with a batting average of 76.71 over 8 games played in this tournament. Parags are currently third in the chase race in the tournament. Parag, who has already hit 37 boundaries and 28 sixes, is batting with a strike rate of 122.88. This time Parag scored 2 and a half centuries each.
A miserable performance in the last IPL but Rajasthan held on
Rian Parag is considered one of their future superstars by the Rajasthan Royals. Parag has been a part of the Royals since 2019 but had a miserable performance in the IPL last season. In all 17 games played by Rajasthan Royals, the player had one chance in the eleven plays and scored 183 runs with a batting average of 16.84. Rajasthan’s reluctance to drop Parag from the squad despite poor performances from him led to huge ire of the fans at the time. But despite a disappointing 2022 season in the IPL, Parag was retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2023 season.
