Congratulations Qudus; Ghana filled with Korea’s eyes Mohammed Kudus was Ghana’s hero after letting slip a two-goal lead

Doha: South Korea is in tears at the end of the education field. After trailing by two goals, Ghana defeated the brilliantly fought Korean team (score 3-2). Mohamed Qudus scored twice to give Ghana three valuable points. In the closing minutes, Korea attacked in waves for the equalizing goal, but failed to break through Ghana’s goal. Gya Soong’s double headers kept Korea in the game.

In the first minutes, the Korean striker rushed towards goal and overwhelmed Ghana. Ghana conceded seven corners in the first 20 minutes. Against the flow of play, Ghana scored first in the 23rd minute. The goal was from defender Mohammad Salisu. In the 34th minute Ghana got emotional and scored the second goal. Jordan Ayew’s bright cross to the Korean goalkeeper jumped in time to hit the head of Muhammad Qudus (2-0).

In the 56th minute of the second half, Lee Kang was called on by Korean coach Paulo Bento to replace Kom Chang Hoon. Lee Kang kept the coach’s hope. In the 58th minute, when Gya Soong headed Lee Kang’s ball into the Ghanaian net, Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence could only watch. Full of goal-scoring power, Korea stormed after three minutes. Gya Soong once again sent Korea to dreamland with a brilliant header from Jin Soo’s high ball just wide of the touchline. Those were the moments that sent Korean fans into a frenzy in the gallery.

Khudus appeared once again in the 68th minute for Ghana as Korea were flying in for the winning goal. Inaki Williams missed the ball which flowed into the Korean goal from the left side, but Qudus was able to easily convert it into the net. After a few minutes of break, Ghana takes the lead again (3-2). Ghana’s first win after Korea tried to equalize but missed. Korea’s opponent in the decisive final match of the group stage is mighty Portugal.
