Cases of DHF, 20 patients treated in hospital

Cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Klungkung regency are on the rise. A total of 20 patients underwent treatment at the hospital. Each of the 11 patients was treated at Klungkung Hospital and 9 patients were treated at Gemar Santi Hospital, Nusa Penida. Nusa Penida sub-district chief Komang Widyasa Putra said most of the DHF patients at Gema Santi Hospital were children. Widiasa called on the residents of Nusa Penida to simultaneously eradicate mosquito nests (PSN).

Klungkung Hospital Public Relations Gusti Putu Widiasa said that there were 11 DHF patients who were still being treated at Klungkung Hospital. Each of 8 patients from Mainland Klungkung, 1 patient from Nusa Penida district and 2 patients from Karangasem. “We also serve patients outside the Klungkung regency,” Gusti Widiasa said on Sunday (11/27). Separately, RSUD Gema Santi Nusa Penida Director Made Rai Sutapa said that DHF patients have been on a spike since last week. There are currently 9 patients being treated.

Previously, a 1-year-old boy from Pekandelan, Semarapura Klod village, Klungkung district had died of dengue. This child died in intensive care in the ICU room of Klungkung Hospital on Monday (3/10). The results of monitoring in the victim’s home environment, the officers found many mosquito larvae in the puddles. Klungkung Health Bureau Chief Dr. Ni Made Adi Swapatni said 302 residents in Klungkung were recorded to have been infected with DHF between January and October.
