The authorities participate in the 1st. Technical table in Puerto Natales.
During this week, the Secplan team of the Illustrious Municipality of Natales, met with Seremi Public Works, Dahían Oyarzún, Seremi Sports Leonidas Hernández and the Regional Director of Architecture Jorge Cortés to develop the First Coordination Table, including in sports managers premises attended.
“The idea in this case is to coordinate first, to deploy in the neighborhood where we are going to carry out this initiative and to be able to make citizens participate, consult with neighbors regarding needs, requirements and above all people who are connected to sport”, highlighted the Public Works Seremi; who also explained that the concepts and guidelines that this ministry wants to preserve are above all linked to a gender perspective, considering that women also practice sport here; but this project will also seek to provide safety in the performance of sport, as well as “a sustainable perspective, since we also have urban planning, which considers the wetland; and the functional connection with the other sports facilities in the city”.
Meanwhile, Leonidas Hernández stressed that it is important to highlight not only the benefit that this project will bring to the people of Natal, but also to all of Patagonia “we are talking about a project that if it continues according to plan, in this the first phase of the planning it will be that it will effectively become a center for the development of sport, which will be here in Puerto Natales”. He said it is very gratifying in these cases “to make the voice of the world of sport heard, because here there are different disciplines that must coexist”.
Walter Bilbao, president of the Football Federation, participated in this first phase of the project, who said that the news is always positive when it comes to improving sports facilities such as the Víctor Bórquez Miranda stadium, “this is only the first meeting, we have socialize with the other disciplines occupying the municipal stadium”. He underlined that one of the greatest wishes of the Football Federation is to have a municipal shelter, for the benefit of all those who are part of the world of sport.
Finally, Jorge Nieto, director of Secplan, indicated that very positive conclusions were drawn from this first technical table and that the presence of the regional authorities demonstrates the importance of this project, not only for Natales but also for Magallanes. “One of the first actions that we have agreed on is starting with the participation of citizens, to explain what we have begun to do, but also to be able to integrate the observations that citizens, the various sports disciplines, the tourism unions can make, since we have a wall very attractive for tourists who visit us. We will promptly inform you about this process. He indicated that this project has a cost of 3 billion pesos, hence the importance of knowing the opinion of the community.
