(VOVWORLD) – A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by the head of the Central Department of Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac visited Australia from November 21 to 26.

During the visit, Trac held meetings with Labor MP, Attorney General Mark Dreyfus, Labor MP, Co-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Tim Watts, Labor MP, Minister, Australian Prime Minister’s Adviser Patrick Gorman and Senator from the Liberal Party, Senate Opposition Leader Simon Birmingham; and MP, leader of the Australian National Party, David Littleproud. Looking forward to further developing relations between the two countries, Australian leaders stressed that Australia appreciates Vietnam’s role and position in the region and in the world.
For his part, Phan Dinh Trac reiterated that the Party and the State of Vietnam attach great importance and want to develop the strategic partnership with Australia. He suggested both sides should continue to strengthen political ties, including ties between the CPA and Australia’s political parties.
