Now Christmas is around the corner and it might be difficult with gifts and such. Moreover, the standard rate of 449 euros has been calculated with precision. Extra money for Christmas? nobody. It is not yet clear how high the standard rate will be in January. In reality, individual recipients should then receive 502 euros per month. The traffic light government wanted to pass this increase as part of the introduction of the new citizen’s income. Here, however, the Union is thwarting the plans. As announced, the CDU and CSU blocked the new law during the decisive vote in the Bundesrat.

But what does this mean for the January payout? If the parties disagree, the standard rate is likely to be paid using the standard calculation.
