The director general of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, revealed that the volunteer teams and the Haram Ambulance Center had started a delivery case in a critical situation for the mother, as upon the arrival of the medical teams it was discovered that there was a case in the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque suffering from contractions and descent of fetal water and upon examining it, it became clear that the head of the fetus had come out and the state of childbirth had begun.
Immediately, the teams intervened according to the protocol for such cases and started the delivery process, with the support of a health worker present on the spot, and successfully completed the delivery and fetus exit.
Al-Zahrani also explained that the mother and the newborn were transferred to Bab Jibril Health Center after checking them, stressing that these cases are considered cases requiring intense medical efforts and the success of such cases is due to the intensification of medical treatment. specialist courses and training in all emergency and medical skills with specialized training methods that take place on a cyclical basis.
He stressed the importance of requesting an ambulance service in an emergency by calling 997, or requesting an ambulance service via the “Help me” application, or a distress call from the Tawakulna application, which saves a lot of time and fatigue; Especially since it determines the location of the caller with high accuracy, which facilitates the arrival of the ambulance team at the place of communication.
