Christmas is increasingly felt in the Aburrá Valley. The lights have already come on in the main parks of the various municipalities and shopping centres, bringing magic to this December season.

It’s now the turn of the San Diego Shopping Center, which this November 25 from 5.30 pm welcomed Christmas with the musical show “50 Christmases, a sweet dream”
With this artistic montage, the oldest shopping center in Medellín and South America is filled with a party with music, dancing, a tour of the corridors where thousands of lights have been turned on and a great musical show “50 Christmases, a dream of gold”, which took place in the main square.
On the occasion of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary, San Diego pays tribute to the city with the delivery of the mural “Connect with your Inner Child”, a 220 square meter work of urban art placed on the main facade of the building which represents tricycles, neighborhoods and families .
Likewise, this place will receive, for its 50 years, two important awards from the Council of Medellín and the Departmental Assembly of Antioquia, which will deliver in gold rank, the Juan del Corral Order of Merit and the Order of marshal of civic and commercial merit Giorgio Robledo.
History
In November 1972, construction began on the San Diego Mall. According to its communication area, “at the time it was the first and most ambitious commercial project that sought not only to bring together different brands in the same place so that citizens could have a safe and different experience, but also a meeting, fun and entertainment space for all families”
This birth was fundamental to kick off the expansion and activation of new commercial and residential areas in Medellín.
