All Norwegian master chef, Eyvind Hellstrøm (73), is on the hunt for the best Christmas food. In the new Hellstrøm’s Christmas programme, the chef will bring along influencer and author Linnéa Myhre (32) and comedian Henrik Fladseth (33).
Now he’s traveling with them, looking for new inspiration for classic Christmas dishes.
Hellstrøm has been seen in many arenas associated with food and traditions, but what’s new this time is that he invites people into his kitchen, where new dishes will be on the table.
First stop
Henrik Fladseth is a new family man and aims to take care of the Christmas dinner. Then he has to learn how to make the most outstanding ribs.
Fladseth and Hellstrøm then embark on the journey to the place where hot liver pate, pastries, beer and schnapps take center stage, namely Copenhagen.
– Great and educational trip! It’s very nice to meet Eyvind. But if there’s one thing she really needs to clean up, it’s his Danish. Unfortunately I’m not much better. He’ll still make good TV, says the comedian.
– Exotic and distinctive
Furthermore, Hellstrøm travels to one of his favorite cities: Paris.
Here he will be together with Linnéa Myhre, who, like many Norwegians, has a strained relationship with Christmas food.
Together, the two fit like a glove, as they both prefer neither ribs nor pork chops on Christmas Eve.
– It was so fun to be with Eyvind on a journey of inspiration. It was both exotic and innovative, where I ended up chasing Eyvind to keep up with everything he would show me, says Myhre.
In France, they will have a taste of alternative food for Christmas. They will also drink champagne and Christmas sodas.
Hellstrøm without Truls?
In several programs and seasons, we have seen Hellstrøm cooking and in recent years he has had a regular following with comedian Truls Svendsen (50).
In this round, Svendsen will not team up with the master chef.
– This is a brand new series in which Hellstrøm focuses on Norwegian food traditions and finding new inspiration for dishes associated with various holidays, says Kathrine Haldorsen, program editor at TV 2.
And to anyone who wants to miss out on the Norwegian in Hellstrøm’s new Christmas show, Haldorsen can reveal that the duo may still be seen on screen in the future.
– We do not exclude that there may be more seasons in which Truls and Eivind are together again.
Hellstrøm’s Christmas – Henrik Fladseth in Copenhagen will be aired on 21 December at 20:00 on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play and Hellstrøm’s Christmas – Linnéa Myhre in France will be aired on 22 December at 20:00 on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play.
