According to De Jaeger, the new building, 46 meters high, is the future. “Because of our height, we barely occupy 10,000 square meters. If you didn’t go up, you’d need 5-6 hectares. So our ecological footprint is much smaller.”
While the warehouse is fully automated, there is room for 42 new full-time employees, bringing the total number within Dematra to more than 200 employees. The building, costing 50 million, should be ready in early 2023.
