KOMPAS. com – After launching Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as a flagship product, Qualcomm now features a new mid-range chip titled Snapdragon 782G. This chip is the new product of the company and the successor of Snapdragon 778G Plus which will be released in October 2021.
As a successor, Snapdragon 782G features several improvements. However, some of the specs are pretty much the same as its predecessor.
For example, in terms of architecture, it still uses 6nm manufacturing, up to the 8-core (core) Kyro 670 and Andreno 642L processors.
The arrangement of cores on the CPU is also the same as its predecessor, but 1 core Kyro 670 Prime (Cortex-A78) has an increased speed up to 200Mhz at 2.7GHz. The other cores are 3 cores Kryo 670 Gold (Cortex-A78). A78) offering speeds up to 2.2GHz and 4 Kryo 670 Silver (Cortex-A55) up to 1.9GHz.

As it offers increased speed, the Snapdragon 782G CPU is said to be 5% faster than its predecessor. The GPU is also said to be 10% faster than the Snapdragon 778G Plus.
Otherwise, the specifications of the Snapdragon 782G are the same as its predecessor. For example, in terms of charging support, it already supports Quick Charge 4+ which is said to be able to charge up to 50% in 15 minutes.
The Snapdragon 782G is also equipped with the Snapdragon X53 modem, which is a modem 5G Qualcomm supporting Sub-6GHz and mmWave. This modem features the FastConnect 6700 system which can accommodate up to 2.9Gbps WiFi connectivity and built-in Bluetooth 5.2.
Other features include Fused AI Accelerator, Qualcomm Spectra ISP support which equates to support for three 14-bit ISPs, the ability to process input images at up to 2 gigapixels per second, and support for camera resolutions up to 200MP.
In addition, the Snapdragon 782G also supports displays with Full HD Plus resolution at 144Hz or resolution up to 4K at 60Hz and slow-motion video recording at 240Hz with a resolution of 720 pixels.
Will Honor 80 be the first mobile with Snapdragon 782G?
Qualcomm has yet to announce which phones will be the first to adopt the Snapdragon 782G. However, compiled by KompasTekno from GSM Arena on Thursday (11/24/2022), Honor 80 is estimated to be the first smartphone with chipset the new.

Honor itself does not clearly mention the chip in the caption of its Weibo post. However, this publication indicates that the Honor 80 will be powered by the Snapdragon 782G.
