The Associated Press reported that Russia fired 67 missiles at Ukraine at 23rd local time, causing power outages across Ukraine, including the capital Kiev.

Ukraine’s state-owned energy operator Ukrenergo said in a statement that “the missile attack is still ongoing, but the energy infrastructure has already been affected” and “emergency power outages are occurring in all regions”.

“We will begin repairs as soon as the air raid alarm ends,” Ucrenergo said, adding that “it is necessary to protect the power grid from further technical incidents and maintain the electrical system.”

As a result, all or parts of cities across Russia, including the capital Kiu, Kharkiv in the north and Lviv in the west, have experienced power outages.

Moldova, which borders Ukraine, also experienced power outages in more than half of its territory, Moldova’s deputy prime minister said.

“We are indestructible people,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address posted on Telegram.

Russia, which suffered a humiliating retreat after eight months of occupying the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, has been bombarding Ukraine with air strikes against vital infrastructure in recent weeks.
