Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Israel’s prime minister-designate, Benjamin Netanyahu, has released a video clip of a phone call he made with his Saudi “brother,” Muhammad Saud, after the Kingdom’s national team match with Argentina, Tuesday.
Netanyahu posted the video clip on his official Twitter page with a comment in which he said: “Congratulated my brother Muhammad Saud on Saudi Arabia’s stunning victory at the World Cup today.”
For his part, Muhammad Saud reposted the video clip of the call on his Twitter page, saying in a comment: “With God’s help, peace is at hand. I spoke to incoming Prime Minister Netanyahu about the imminence of peace and the great victory against Argentina”.
The Saudi national team had defeated their Argentine counterpart by two goals to a goal scored by national team star Lionel Messi from a penalty kick earlier in the match.
Muhammad Saud bills himself on his Twitter account as a “peace activist,” and previously posted a photo of him shaking hands with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His name became famous after his visit to Israel in 2019 and his constant calls for the normalization of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Israel.
