Glazers open to Manchester United sale

Manchester United could be sold, he reports Sky News Tuesday night.

The Glazer family is studying the possibility of selling the English big, and the announcement of the plans would be imminent.

The American owners are said to be looking for investors, but it could end in a sale of the entire club, believe Sky News, which reports that this could end with the Glazer family maintaining the club.

Glazer protests outside Old Trafford

– It’s good news for the fans, who have been wanting it for a long time. That’s because the Glazer family didn’t have particularly big sporting ambitions, and that’s all the fans think about. That should be the case at Manchester United too, says TV 2 football pundit Simen Stamsø-Møller.

The Americans have owned Manchester United for 17 years, but have been hugely unpopular with the club’s supporters. Several times there have been violent protests by Manchester United fans.

– Since the Glazer family joined, the club’s value has increased enormously while the team hasn’t done very well, says Stamsø-Møller, who is not surprised that the Glazers are looking for investors.

– We may have seen the signs. Ed Woodward, who made Manchester United almost a record store, has left the club. Therefore, one could guess that they want a new direction and just want to sell the club. For the sums per hour they can sell the club, they can cash in and be very happy. I see it as a win-win for everyone, says Stamsø-Møller.

The Glazer family paid just under a billion Norwegian kroner in 2005. On the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, Manchester United was worth just over 22 billion Norwegian kroner, but Sky News refers to reports that the Glazer family will demand at least 60 billion Norwegian kroner for the club.

Ronaldo contested: destroyed by the result

The sale of a smaller part of the club to an outside investor will provide much-needed funds for the rebuilding of Old Trafford, writes Sky News.

It has recently become known that Liverpool Football Club is also being sold by the owners of Fenway Sports Group. Earlier this year, Chelsea FC was also sold by Roman Abramovich to Todd Boehly.
