In June it was published some screenshots from the unofficial remaster of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. And today we are happy to announce that the unofficial remaster will be released on December 25th.

STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild is essentially rebuilt on the OGSR Engine, which is an evolution of the X-Ray Engine. This unofficial remaster will have better textures for some items/surfaces. Players will also find new sounds (from mutants to dialogues and weapons, replacing them with high quality ones and adding new ones), improved NPCs (even with some new NPC models), improved shader effects and much more.

To showcase the new textures, Andrey0007 released the following screenshots. These screenshots show some of the improved textures. Please note that the initial release of this fan-made remaster will only come with the 16GB HD Texture Pack. In other words, this texture pack will not rework all textures in the game. Therefore, expect to see some low-quality textures in places.
