The great Lebanese artist Romeo Lahoud passed away this morning at the age of 92. His nephew and the late artist’s son, Alan Mereb, actor Essam Mereb mourned him on social media.

Romeo Lahoud started his art career after his return from abroad, then Baalbek International Festivals Committee opened its doors to him and presented Lebanese Nights with legend Sabah and late artist Magdala, so the works were “The Castle”, ” The Waterfall”, “Ferman” and other works. The late artist, Salwa Al-Qatrib also published in the early seventies through ‘Sunkaf Sankaf’, ‘Yasmine’ and ‘Bint Al-Jabal’ which were shown at the Elysee Ashrafieh and Casino du Liban.
Romeo Lahoud was a permanent jury member of the Studio El Fan program, and one of the most important and famous concerts he gave was together with Shahroura Sabah at the Olympia in Paris, when Sabah sang Alanda Alanda in French.
Romeo Lahoud has been awarded by official Lebanese and international bodies. The last two honors were from the Baalbek Festivals Committee in 2017 during the revival of his works in Baalbek with the voice of young artists, and the last honor was from the head of the Kataeb Party, Sami Gemayel, in Byblos last year .
