Is There a Hole in US-China Semiconductor War? Netherlands Says It Doesn’t Follow US Ban | Blog posts

Dutch Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Minister Schreiner Maher said the Netherlands would not copy US measures and the US should not expect the Netherlands to adopt their approach without question, according to the Bloomberg report. reiterating that the Netherlands has corresponding restrictions on export licenses, so that the Netherlands can decide for itself the content of the control measures against China.

“Bloomberg” described that this is the first time a Dutch official has publicly expressed his position on the issue, and also highlights the major challenges the United States faces in convincing its allies to limit exports to China.

The report said the United States announced on Oct. 7 that it would restrict American companies and companies using American technology from supplying and transporting specific equipment, technology and services to Chinese companies on the watchlist. The US is courting its allies to join the camp to contain China and has sent Alan Estevez, the US undersecretary of commerce for industry and security, to visit the Netherlands to discuss export control issues .
