The Department of Health announced today (20) that there have been 7,736 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Hong Kong, including 524 imported cases, and 13 more people have died.
A total of 17 nursing homes confirmed cases today, including 8 elderly care homes and 9 disabled care homes, a total of 27 people were infected.
As of 00:00 November 20, the Department of Health’s Office of Public Health Laboratory Service found a total of 223 cases of XBB, six cases of XBD, eight cases of BA.2.75.2, seven cases of BA .4.6 and 12 cases in Hong Kong BF.7 and 34 cases of subseries BQ.1.1 and a total of 50 cases of XBB, 16 cases of XBD, one case of BA.2.75.2, one case of BF.7 and 64 cases of subseries BQ.1.1 have been found in local cases.
Samples received by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health for local case verification testing Nov. 11-17 were found to be similar to Omicron variant virus strain BA.2.12.1 and substrain BA.4/BA.5 ( including suspected cases) accounted for 0% and approximately 80.5% (7-day rolling average ratio), respectively.
