A member of Hezbollah’s Central Council, Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, said that “those who approached the presidential elections with the logic of defiance and confrontation and launched slogans bigger than their size are the ones who caused the vacuum presidential”.
Sheikh Qaouk’s words came during the ceremony of honor held by the party for the scholar Sayyid Abd al-Latif al-Amin, on the thirty-eighth anniversary of his “martyrdom”, in the Husayniyah of the southern town of Al-Sawana, in the presence of some scholars, personalities and a group of residents.
He stressed that “the experience of the presidential election sessions has shown that no party has the capacity to elect a president without consensus, and to insist on the logic of the refusal of consent means repeating the scene of past sessions for an unspecified period”.
His Eminence said, “We want a consensual president who prioritizes saving the country and is entrusted with national unity, and we don’t want a president who conspires against the resistance, or drags the country into sedition, which is a red line. “
Sheikh Qaouk considered that “the owners of the logic of challenge and confrontation have been involved and have involved the country in an uncalculated adventure, and the first person responsible for pushing the Lebanese towards confrontation is the Saudi regime, which since 2009 has adopted this logic in Lebanon, and is still continuing and with an increasing pace”, underlining that “an effort The logic of confrontation has reached a dead end and led the country to a presidential vacuum”.
He underlined that “there are still some deputies who complain of being subjected to Saudi pressure to change their position on the election of the President of the Republic”.
He stressed that “Saudi interference is the worst external interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs and that the Saudi embassy is primarily responsible for preventing dialogue and consensus among the Lebanese.”
His Eminence said that “everything that is happening among us and around us does not distract the resistance from the duty of readiness, readiness and development of its military capabilities in quantity and quality, regardless of internal and external benefits, because this is what discourage the enemy and protect the country and its wealth”.
