The artist’s career ended too soon.
Rimma Shorokhova was considered one of the brightest stars on the Soviet screen. She managed to star in the films “Spring on Zarechnaya Street”, “Groom from the Other World” and others, but in the 60s she suddenly disappeared from the screens. As it turned out, the artist decided not to choose a career, but her personal happiness.
The fact is that at the peak of his success, he accepted the offer to star in the film “Interrupted Song”, which was created by the joint efforts of the USSR and Czechoslovakia. On the set, she met cameraman Jaromir Holbukh and she almost immediately fell in love with him. The beloved invited his chosen one to move in with him, and Shorokhova agreed.
The artist hoped to continue his career in a new country. He also played two roles in the movies ‘Black Saturday’ and ‘Early Spring’ but that was the end of his career. The fact is that local viewers knew nothing about Shorokhova, for them she was the most ordinary artist. Furthermore, she never managed to learn the Czech language, which is why the way to the cinema was closed to her.
As a result, she got a job as an announcer on local radio and read the news in Russian, and later became an administrator in a restaurant. She abandoned all attempts to return to the cinema and began to live a quiet life without the stage and the love of fans. Today, the 96-year-old celebrity still lives in the Czech Republic, but already alone: her husband died in 2006.
