Rishi Sunak visited Kiev; Offer more help

Kiev ∙ British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who visited Kiev, said that all aid to Ukraine will continue and that he will provide a new air defense system needed to destroy Russian drones. Sunak also pledged emergency aid of £5 crore (Rs 485 crore). Sunak held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At the same time, the Pentagon assessed that Russia had increased rocket attacks aimed at destroying Ukraine’s air defenses. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has given permission for increased air defense assistance.

A week after the Russian forces withdrew, refugees from Kherson began returning. The authorities are working hard to remove landmines. Efforts are also underway to restore electricity and water supplies. The city of Harsan which used to have 3 lakh people now has only around 80,000 people.
