The Ministry of Health (MINSA) reported that as of Saturday 19 November the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose amounts to 26,836,285. Meanwhile, the total number of citizens vaccinated with two doses is 25,762,240 as of 6 a.m.
Similarly, the number of citizens who received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine amounts to 20,952,400. While with the fourth dose there are 5,681,947 people vaccinated.
So far, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 49 million from Pfizer, more than 10 million from AstraZeneca and more than four million from Moderna. All of these are applied according to the Government’s age-group scheduling after inoculation with priority healthcare personnel, senior citizens and members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Fire Brigade.
Both Sinopharm and Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines need to be applied in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.
The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2021, in the main health centers of Lima and Callao. A digital tool implemented by the Minsa allows access to information on the progress of the application of the dose. You just have to click HERE review the number of people vaccinated with both doses or with just one.
New vaccination plan
The Government has established that a new vaccination plan against COVID-19 will begin on 16 April 2021, with the aim of vaccinating the elderly first.
For this, the Executive has implemented the I Put the Shoulder platform, so that people can know the place, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Since 25 September 2022, children under 5 years of age (from 6 months to 4 years and 11 months and over) have been vaccinated. For this segment of the population, the inoculation was implemented in the regions starting from Monday 26 September.
To date, the third dose is placed on people 12 years of age and older. The fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is also applied to people over the age of 18.
