On November 17, the Soulanges business association retired to Cafiti, a former Saint-Polycarpe golf club, after 31 years of activity.
The current members of the Association de gens d’affaires de Soulanges (AGAS), former presidents and members, as well as its founding president, Charles Fordham, gathered where it all began 31 years earlier. After proposing the dissolution of AGAS himself, the members voted in favor of this proposal.
The voluntary time required, the absence of permanence and the lack of succession for the board of directors at the presidency level would be the reasons for its dissolution, according to Alexandre Larin, president of AGAS for two years. Not even the pandemic was going to help. In fact, no activities were organized during this period and AGAS has observed a decrease in the number of its members.
Alexandre Larin said that this association was one of the last of its kind in the region. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vaudreuil-Soulanges will then take over the assets. A seat on the board of directors of the CCIVS will also be reserved for a representative of the Soulanges region. According to Mr. Larin, this change creates a synergy of activities and members.
