Dominican film production company Desiree Reyes presided over the jury of the 48th edition of the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, which began last Friday and lasted until November 18 in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain.
The jury The official selection was also made up of María Esteve, actress and president of the Antonio Gades Foundation, and the film critic, residing in Germany, Sergio Correa.
This 48th edition of the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival presented 136 titles, including features and shorts, half of them directed by women, indicates a press release.
Twelve productions were presented in the official section of feature films, representing a significant sample of the Ibero-American film scene, since these are works that have their premiere in Spain in the context of the festival, in most cases after a successful passage through festivals prestigious as Locarno, Venice, Berlin, Guadalajara, Sundance or Miami.
The Huelva Film Festival had the documentary as its inaugural film ‘I feel it a lot’which director Fernando León de Aranoa dedicates to the story of Joaquín Sabina and will close his screening program on November 18 with ‘1976’ (Chile, 2022), directed by Manuela Martelli, a drama about the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
Desiree Reyes is an outstanding producer, with more than 20 credits in the Dominican film industry. In 2019 he received the Lidia Bastos Recognition from the Dominican Global Film Festival for the outstanding values of his professional career.
