Aged actor Rudy Salam passed away on Friday (11/18) at the age of 73.
Rudy’s departure is certainly a blow to Roy Marten, his younger brother.
Though sad, Roy admits he’s relieved that his brother is now no longer in pain. He also said that Rudy had been experiencing great pressure in his life for the past seven years, causing him to suffer from depression.
“Mas Rudy’s suffering is over. Thank God he has been called to a place where there is no sadness and pain. Mas Rudy has been suffering for seven years, so I think this is the best way,” said Roy as he cried when he had met at a funeral home in the Jakarta area.
When asked about the depression Rudy suffered before he died, Roy admitted that he doesn’t know exactly. However, he explained that there was anxiety that his brother had been feeling all this time.
“There’s anxiety that I don’t know why. He started getting restless, pacing, fuzzy, didn’t want to talk to him, after a while he was lazy to move because of vertigo,” she explained.
Meanwhile, when asked about Rudy Salam, Roy called him an amazing brother. Since childhood, Rudy has always protected Roy.
“He was great when I was little, he was my protector because I was always aroundbossy. She always stood up for me.”

Rudy Salam’s body will later be buried at Cungkup Public Cemetery (TPU), Salatiga, which is the actor’s hometown.
