Ostalb Karatekas very successful at the 6th cup tournament of the German Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (DSKF) in Leinzell
Leinzell.
The sixth cup tournament of the German Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (DSKF) took place in Leinzell. This is a competition where especially young fighters have the opportunity to taste the tournament air for the first time. After a two-year hiatus from Corona, nearly 60 Shotokan karateka from near and far followed the call of national coach Uwe Borsody Sensei (7th Dan) this year to measure their strength.
In addition to the starters from the Dojo Nintai in Reutlingen, the karatekas from the Ostalb Taira TSV Großdeinbach, Fujiwara TV Heuchlingen and Tokugawa Alfdorf dojos wanted to show their skills in front of their home crowd and started off very motivated. It began in the disciplines of kata (form) and kumite (fighting) in different age and performance classes. A challenge for many newcomers to competitions, which significantly increased heart rate and adrenaline release before and during the start. The karatekas from Großdeinbach, Heuchlingen and Alfdorf have achieved excellent results in nerve-wracking and exciting decisions.
For all the participating karatekas it was a very interesting and instructive competition, from which both combative and strategic experiences could be drawn for next year’s competitions. National coach Uwe Borsody Sensei was also very satisfied with the performance of the karatekas. For him, the competition was another positive piece in the puzzle of forming the national team for the World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (WSKF) World Championships to be held in Tokyo/Japan next year.
