TIME.CO, Jakarta – Apple will switch to using USB-C connectors for its new phones. However, it remains to be seen when that change will occur. Apple product analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the new port switch will occur in the second half of 2023, which means it coincides with the launch of the series iPhones 15.
Kuo believes Apple will bring USB-C to all of its new iPhone 15 models, although only the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will have USB 3.2 standard, or at least Thunderbolt 3 which can handle up to 40Gbps for the data transfer. The iPhone 15 and 15 Max will use USB 2.0 which goes up to 480Mbps just like the current lighting equipped iPhone.
Apple has a long history of distinguishing features between Pro and vanilla models or standard iPhones. If there is a subsequent update to the USB-C connector, then it seems plausible that the Pro variant will get the high-speed one.
Kuo also speculates that Apple may add a solid-state volume button to the 15 Pro series. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max can also get a periscope lens with up to 6x magnification.

Tentang USB port
It is important to distinguish between the form factor of a particular USB port such as Type-A or Type-C and the data transfer rate and power delivery available through that port. Instead, standards that define USB performance are expressed as numeric values, such as USB 2.0, 3.1, 3.2, or 4.
The USB 1.0 specification introduced in 1996 offered a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Mbps, USB 2.0 maximum at 480 Mbps. USB 3.2 Gen 1, formerly known as USB 3.0, offers transfer rates of 5 Gbps, which is about 10 times faster faster than USB 2.0.
USB 3.2 Gen 2, released in July 2013 and once called USB 3.1 offers transfer speeds of 10Gbps. USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, released in September 2017, is available only for USB Type-C connectors that use bi-directional operation. It offers a transfer speed of 20 Gbps.

USB4, or often spelled with a space as USB 4, was announced in March 2019. It uses the Thunderbolt 3 protocol and offers transfer speeds of 40Gbps.
