Palakkad: Excise arrested two people, including a vlogger, who were attempting to smuggle drugs and weapons, including a gun in their car. Alappuzha vlogger Mavelikara Chunakkara Desam Mangalat Vignesh Venu (25) and Kayamkulam Ochira Krishnapuram Kochumuri S. Vineeth (28) were arrested.
Excises impounded the car from Chandranagar, Palakkad which did not stop while inspecting the vehicle at Walayar. 40 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun and machetes were found. Both got out of the car and ran away and were caught by customs. The car crashed into the partition at Walayar toll booth. The gun was unauthorized.
Officials said both did not cooperate with the interrogation as they were heavily inebriated. The Excise team also obtained intelligence that Vignesh was posting videos on social media promoting drug use through her YouTube channel “Vicky Thug.” This is also under review.
