No candidate has applied to compete with Infantino for the presidency of the International Football Federation, which means automatic renewal for Infantino.
And the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced Thursday that its president since 2016, the Swiss Gianni Infantino, will be the only candidate next March for a third consecutive term.
The global body said in a statement three days before the start of the World Cup finals in Qatar (between November 20 and December 18): “No other applications were presented by the member associations of FIFA before the conference election scheduled in Kigali on March 16, 2023.”
