Blizzard games will no longer be available in China

As of January 23, 2023, Chinese players will no longer be able to play Blizzard Entertainment titles. The company representatives announced it in a press release.

The restriction of access to Blizzard Entertainment games in China is caused by a breakdown in relations with the Chinese publisher NetEase, with which the company has worked since 2008. The statement said the parties were unable to reach an agreement on the terms of the extension of the agreement. Blizzard Entertainment titles will be discontinued soon. The only game that will not be affected by the changes is Diablo Immortal, as its development and distribution are governed by a separate agreement.

Formerly Blizzard Entertainment prepared Cinematic trailer in honor of the release of the prepatch for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. The developers showed different types of dragons and flying on them, new mounts, a unique class for Draktyrs, as well as Alexstrasza, one of the Aspects. With the release of the pre-patch in World of Warcraft, it became possible to create a character of a new race.
