Win11 task manager bug fixed: NVIDIA graphics card occupancy is finally normal | XFastest News

Earlier this year, there was a bug in reading NVIDIA GPU in Win11 22H2 task manager, and there would be a problem that idle graphics card reading would skyrocket.

The bug was later “claimed” by NVIDIA and said it was fixed.

Today, NVIDIA released driver update version 526.98. In addition to adding support for RTX 4080 graphics cards, this bug has also been fixed. Now NVIDIA users open task manager to check GPU readings and there will be no anomalous data.

Prior to the fix, the bug caused the idle NVIDIA graphics card to be almost 100% occupied, and the graphics card was essentially idle and the temperature was within the normal range.

Some users infer that there is a problem with task manager GPU reading and the displayed usage rate is “upside down” from the actual running state. Taking the situation in the screenshot as an example, the actual usage rate may be around 4%.

It is unfortunate that although the bug has been fixed, NVIDIA has not informed users of the bug trigger.
