The WhatsApp chat feature for your own number can be tried in Indonesia

KOMPAS. com – Whatsapp (WA) would have developed a function to send chats to your number last September. At the time, this feature was only available for the beta version of WhatsApp desktop.

Since the end of October, features WhatsApp chat on your number is already available to a number of WhatsApp beta users on iOS and Android. Well, now this feature can also be tried by WhatsApp beta users in Indonesia.

As the name suggests, features chat with your number on whatsapp allows users to send messages to and from the same number on WhatsApp. This practice is the same as when one user sends a message to another user, except the destination is their own number.

Then, when the user opens a new chat by pressing the WhatsApp message icon, various options will be available, starting from a new group, a new contact, up to a list of contacts registered in WhatsApp.

Your number will appear in your contact list with the caption “Message yourself,” as shown below. To send messages to their numbers, users can select this option.

In addition to sending new messages, users can also forward (forward) messages from other users to your number. The method is the same as forwarding messages to other contacts.

Previously this feature did not support the concept of WhatsApp multi-device (more than one device). In this scenario, WhatsApp chats to your own numbers can only be sent to your primary device or mobile. Therefore, the same message will not appear on other connected devices such as computers or laptops.

However, WhatsApp later fixed the problem and allowed messages sent to your number to appear on all connected devices.

It should be noted that this feature is only available to WhatsApp beta users. It is not yet known when the WhatsApp chat function to your numbers will be available in a stable version for all users.
