An investigation begins after a dead person is found in Stavanger
A man was found dead in a house in Stavanger on Wednesday evening. – We don’t call it a suspicious death, but we think there is reason to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, operations director Jostein Reiestad in the Sør-West police district tells NRK.
AMK asked the police to assist the health system at 18.50. The police moved with several patrols to the scene. Police won’t say whether the man was dead when they arrived or whether he died afterwards.
The deceased must undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The police launched an investigation and several interviews were conducted with witnesses.
– At this stage, we have undertaken some investigative steps. Then we’ll wait and see what the autopsy tells us. An assessment will then be made as to whether further investigative steps are needed, activity manager Runar Heggen in the Sør-West police district tells NRK.
