Italian national team won 3-1 against Albania in an international test match. Vincenzo Grifo became a star by scoring two goals.
From Albania vs Italy held at Air Albania Stadium, Thursday (17/11/2022) in the morning WIB. Both teams failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
Italian coach Roberto Mancini took the opportunity to try out a new formation, namely the 3-4-3. Nicolo Zaniolo, Giacomo Raspadori and Vincenzo Grifo were lined up as a trident up front.
Italy conceded first in the 16th minute. Albania scored a goal with Ardian Ismajli’s header. He followed Nedim Bajrami’s free kick from the right.
Italy replied four minutes later. Giovani Di Lorenzo brought Italy level after completing a pass from Vincenzo Grifo.
Italy took the lead on 25′. Raspadori escaped the offside trap and provided a pass completed by Grifo.
Italy almost added a goal late in the first half. But Nicolo Zaniolo’s shot hit the post again.
Chances Italy once again hit the crossbar. This time Raspadori’s shot hit the crossbar and rebounded off the goal line.
Shortly afterwards it was up to Albania to threaten the Italian goal. Uzuni’s kick hits the crossbar. The ball gag that Roshi tried to exploit forced Alex Meret to make a save.
Italy finally added a goal in the 64th minute. Grifo scored his second goal of this game after Marco Verratti’s pass.
Italy will face Austria on Monday (21/11/2022) in the morning WIB.
