NVIDIA has released a driver GeForce Game Ready 526.98, which provides optimizations for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (out Friday on PC), Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (out November 30, beta pre-order available tomorrow), and WRC Generations is an official FIA WRC game that is getting DLSS 3 support with an update today. The driver is also optimized for the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Insomniac’s Miles Morales on PC has the following features:
- NVIDIADLSS 3
- NVIDIA DLAA
- Nvidia Reflex
- Ray-traced reflections
- Ray-traced shadows
As with all DLSS 3 games, it also supports DLSS 2 (now known as Super Resolution DLSS) for owners of GeForce RTX 20 and 30 series graphics cards.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide also supports DLSS 3 (and DLSS 2) and NVIDIA Reflex as well as ray traced reflections and global illumination.
One of the initial flaws of DLSS 3 was the lack of VSYNC support, which was fixed with GeForce Game Ready Driver 526.98. NVIDIA explained:
DLSS 3 uses its NVIDIA Reflex technology to limit the output frame rate to just below the refresh rate of the G-SYNC monitor. This allows for tear-free playing, avoiding the high back pressure and high latency caused by VSYNC. To enable this feature:
- Enable G-SYNC: NVIDIA Control Panel -> Display -> G-SYNC Setup
- Enable VSYNC: NVIDIA Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings
- Use the Global Settings tab to apply settings by game or by game in the Program Settings tab.
- Enable DLSS frame generation in a supported game.
The GeForce Game Ready driver also quietly adds support for RTX IO (as part of Microsoft’s DirectStorage 1.1 release, although it also works with the Vulkan API via two new extensions) for HDR10+ displays as well. However, neither technology is currently supported in any game.
RTX IO was first announced two years ago. Now it’s finally available with this Game Ready Driver. This technology is open source and works on all platforms, but is optimized for the Ada architecture and therefore for RTX 40 GPUs.
The GeForce Game Ready Driver 526.98 release notes also mentions the following fixed issues:
- The G-SYNC logo is not displayed in the LG OLED TV menu when connected to GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs.
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection may crash when launched on a GeForce GTX 10 series GPU
- [QNIX QX2710/Fujitsu Siemens SL23T-1/Dell UP2715K/ HP Z27q] Unable to select the native resolution of some monitors in the Windows display settings
- [Daz Studio] The application crashes after updating to the latest driver while trying to run the simulation
- The Desktop Window Manager Service (dwm.exe) may report significantly higher GPU usage on certain PC configurations.
- Maxon – Cinema4D + Redshift3D video memory allocation causes TDR or driver crash
