End of season threatened! Rams superstar Cooper Kupp needs to go under the knife

In the midst of his sporting crisis, the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams is faced with some bad news. Cooper Kupp, MVP in the triumph over Cincinnati earlier this year, suffered a syndesmosis injury and requires surgery.

Kupp (29) was injured Sunday (local time) in the game against the Arizona Cardinals (17:27). The Rams suffered their sixth loss in the ninth game of the season and are last in the NFC West. Kupp has been placed on the injured reserve list and will miss at least four games.

“Obviously you can never, ever replace a player like Cooper Kupp,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. “But now we have to see that we work out the strengths of the guys who will play.”

The wide receiver played a key role in the victory over the Cincinnati Bengals (23:20) in Super Bowl LVI. Kupp caught two touchdowns in Inglewood, one with 85 seconds remaining.
