A Zurich student (39) ends up in court because he allegedly insulted the current German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (39). “Someone should dismember you,” she wrote to the politician’s personal email address in October 2021, according to the sanction order. And he garnished the statement with a swear word that shouldn’t be repeated at this point. At the time, the politician was federal president of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen and wanted to be elected chancellor. And she couldn’t bear the tirade from Zurich: Baerbock turned against the Berlin prosecutor’s office.
This has reached colleagues in Zurich with a request to assume the sanction. The e-mail address from which the swear words were sent does not contain any names, only the word “papierlischwizer”. However, the Zurich municipal police found what they were looking for.
Do you hate mail senders with mental health issues?
The “papierlischwizer” is the 39-year-old Zurich student Nikolai J.*. The Moscow-born man was sentenced to a fine of 1,800 francs for verbal abuse on June 14, 2022. There are also court costs of 800 francs.
“The honor of the injured party has been violated, as the defendant intended, but at least accepted with approval,” wrote the prosecutor in his justification. However, the student challenged the sanctioning order, which is why the matter is now being examined by the judge.
Nikolai J. could not be reached for Blick. The trial against him will take place on November 25 in the district court of Zurich. According to Blick research, Nikolai J. is not a blank slate. And from his family background it is said that he suffers from mental problems.
Growing hatred for politicians
In Germany, threats and insults against politicians have long been a problem. According to “Spiegel”, the Greens intend to take action against anonymous accounts that spread criminal content with a law to protect against digital violence. One study claims that during the 2021 election campaign, Annalena Baerbock received 5,524 emails “with potentially abusive and offensive language”.
Political agitation also takes place in Switzerland. Recently, an opponent of vaccination (45) was sentenced to a conditional fine for assault: he sprayed apple spritzer on Zurich health director Natalie Rickli (45). More serious was the attack on the green Zurich city councilor Karin Rykart. A 32-year-old man had threatened to “crush” her. The district court of Zurich has imposed a small detention on the schizophrenic man.
