Grosspostwitz. Großpostwitz cannot manage the planned conversion of the former municipal office into a medical care center on its own. About 2.9 million euros are estimated for this. The city council has now agreed to take out a loan to put the project on a financially secure footing. The 800,000 euros are intended to finance the municipality’s own contribution. The energy renovation of the building is also supported by the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) with just over one million euros.
The municipal office has been empty since the administration moved into the former train station earlier this year. Now two doctors and a midwife want to settle there.
Especially in view of the constantly rising interest rates, the municipality had tried to take out the loan as soon as possible in order to get the best possible terms. “Of course, we also have to consider what such a loan means for the financial future of Großpostwitz. Because we want to continue to have room for investment,” says Mayor Markus Michauk (OLG). The municipality intends to repay the loan within 30 years. According to Michauk, it is currently repaying three existing loans. (SZ/bsp)
