The Tigers got off to the worst possible start. After Christian Kretschmann sat down in the penalty area, it only took 34 seconds before left-footed former national team player Marcel Müller gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute. However, Bayreuth were unimpressed and equalized shortly afterwards. Dani Bindels filled in and replaced the former Krefeld Kretschmann, who beat the strong guest goalkeeper Hendrik Hane 1-1 (8th). The Tigers showed a different face than in the first third of the season, moving the puck much faster and aggressively tracking their own puck losses. The Krefelders were the technically stronger team, but needed a power play to get back in front. Dennis Miller didn’t give a chance to Tigers goalkeeper Olafr Schmidt (18′).
