In a post on the official Call of Duty: Warzone 2 blog the developers talked about several changes in the gameplay elements of the upcoming game and introduced a completely new game mechanic – interrogating enemies. Now, when playing any of the Warzone 2 modes, players can interrogate injured enemies instead of killing them. While interrogating enemies, the minimap will briefly display the location of their allies, providing a huge tactical advantage.
As part of an overview of the new mechanics, the developers explain how they worked to ensure interrogations weren’t too powerful. Interrogated players will be able to ask for help during interrogation by reporting their location to teammates. The effects of successful interrogations end if the interrogated player dies or is reborn. This will help ensure that interrogating enemies is associated with potential risk equal to possible reward.
The introduction of the new interrogation mechanic in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 offers players a whole new way to gain a tactical advantage in an online shooter and could help further differentiate the game from other battle royale titles. Weighing the risk of interrogating an opponent versus incurring the wrath of their teammates should add a new level of tension to gameplay. However, no matter how players decide to play the upcoming shooter, they need to make sure they have space to install the massive game Warzone 2 before it launches.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be released on November 16 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
