Thiruvananthapuram
The Muslim League and RSP, the constituent parties of the UDF, said K Sudhakaran’s tainted statements in support of the BJP could not be reduced to a “verbal punishment”. The depiction of Nehru as a leader who had reconciled with fascism also became a hot topic in Congress. The main leaders rejected Sudhakaran. Knowing the depth of the crisis, KC Venugopal and Tariq Anwar hastily declared that all issues had been resolved, but to no avail. The concern in the Congress emerged in the opinion of VD Satheesan and K Muralidharan.
K Muraleedharan’s MP openly said that Sudhakaran’s statement affected the unity of the front. They are actively discussing whether Sudhakaran should be given the post of KPCC chairman after falling out with the League. The leaders themselves say that the resignation of the DCC member in Alappuzha is a symbol of the protest of ordinary workers.
Sudhakaran’s claim that he gave protection to the RSS branch is frowned upon within the ranks of the Muslim League. It was at this stage that Nehru made a deal with the RSS. MK Muneer’s attempt to simplify the matter by claiming to have expressed his displeasure raised a voice from within the league itself. PMA league leader Salam said such statements in Sudhakaran’s absence seriously affected the front. The league does not find it funny that K Surendran said that K Sudhakaran’s mind was always with them. RSP leaders are also protesting strongly.
K Muralidharan’s position is that there is no need to compromise against Sudhakaran. Sudhakaran himself should step in and resolve the protest in the constituent parties. Leaders said it would be discussed in the political affairs committee on the 17th.
UDF defending: Muslim League
PMA Salam, head of state secretary general of the Muslim League, said K Sudhakaran’s statements were inopportune and inappropriate. Statements make the UDF defensive. At first I thought it was a mistake. However, misrepresentations are repeated.
It shouldn’t have been said in public. Salam told reporters that he would tell the Muslim League if they asked for their opinion on how to get Shashi Tharoor to lead the Congress in Kerala.
Muslim League High Power Committee today
The Muslim League’s high-powered committee is set to meet on Wednesday to discuss the party’s position as K Sudhakaran continues to make pro-RSS statements. The match will be held at Malappuram League House at 11.00am. A meeting of state officials will also be held.
Muslim League leaders have reacted against K Sudhakaran, who has appeared as the savior of the RSS, including through social media. Leaders are also concerned that they will pay a heavy price if they ignore the RSS whitewashing statement. Sudhakaran repeated that if he decided to join the RSS, he would leave, which confused the league.
All India Secretary PK Kunhalikutty also said he would look into the matter. Secretary of State MK Muneer said that “Rahul Gandhi had said during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that those who are RSS-minded can leave the party”. State President Panakkad Sadikhali convened the high-powered committee in consultation with himself and PK Kunhalikutty.
Sudhakaran politics are dangerous – CK Sreedharan
Former Vice President CK Sreedharan said that KPCC President K Sudhakaran’s support of RSS is a very dangerous policy. A pro-RSS statement cannot be dismissed as a fluke. Sensitive people know where Sudhakaran is looking. The public statement that the RSS stood guard did not stop there. It will have consequences. This is what he means.
A historical democratic and secularist figure like Nehru has established himself as an ally of RSS fascism. National congressional leadership should respond to this. CK Sreedharan said the rank and file were not satisfied that the national leadership has not responded despite the public response from leftist parties and the Muslim League.
