Nico Abad came groomed for ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ by a previous edition winner. Although during interviews at the Vitoria Television Festival (FesTVal) he joked that his main dish he They are spaghetti bolognese: “I nail them to you and you cry with emotion; if you taste them you won’t want to eat anything else”. This week the journalist was expelled together with his partner Daniela Santiago.
-At what level do you get to “MasterChef Celebrity”?
-Basic level, many of us have children and know how to make porridge. But this program is a ladder where there’s an increasing degree of difficulty, but it’s something you always want to do. You know what the problem is? The 15 want to get it right as much as you do and then three who say if it’s right or wrong. But the process is fun, it’s a TV show, I’ve been off TV since 2020, I’ve reconciled with TV watching teams, big cameras alert, editors with no helmets, how storylines are scripted everywhere they go on the show to influence that.
-Does it cost much to keep the secret?
– It’s hard for me to keep a secret. I won’t stop talking nonsense about this, it’s expensive especially if you won. They don’t understand that you can’t tell them. They get angry.
Nico Abad then confessed to having a lot of work behind him: “Go study like a beast as if you had opposition, the fridge fills up with things, the kitchen fills up with junk, you get fat, but you learn”. She also confessed who her teacher was: “Juanma Castaño, she won. Seven seasons with him. She said “Are you giving cooking lessons?” and I told him no, and he’s like “well, you screwed up already. You are already doing badly and you are late”. I asked him what he cooked the first day and he told me: “I don’t remember”. And now I get it, it’s such a whirlwind that you have on top of preparing travel dishes. I don’t remember anything about the first one. When asked if he would like to win as his friend and partner, he was clear: “Winning is impossible.”
