Densus 88 arrests two policemen in Lampung in connection with terrorism

Two members Lampung Police reportedly arrested by the special detachment (Detachment) 88 Counter-terrorism police on suspicion of being involved in a terrorist network.

The news of the arrest was also confirmed by the head of public relations of the Lampung police, Kombes Zahwani Pandra Arsyad. Pandra said Densus 88 did this to prevent the spread of terrorist networks in Indonesia.

“Which is true that the prosecution was conducted by the investigation team of Densus 88/AT Polri under the jurisdiction of the Lampung Regional Police,” he said when confirmed on Tuesday (11/15).

“In order to prevent acts of terrorism in Indonesia, as an effort to maintain a Kamtibmas-friendly atmosphere,” he continued.

However, he was reluctant to explain the arrest further. Pandra said her group was only accompanying Densus 88 on law enforcement activities.

Pandra said details regarding the history and the arrest case would be relayed by the National Police Headquarters.

“For chronological completeness, it is the responsibility of the Investigative Team of Densus 88 / AT at the National Police Headquarters”, he concluded.
