Singer Diona Liepiņa, known from the show “X Factors”, has released a new song “Pulksten 12”, which is actively preparing for the release of her debut mini-album, which is scheduled for spring 2023.
The musical author of the song “Pulksten 12” is Diona Liepiņa herself, its producers are Varslaff ‘n’ Edwolf or Armands Varslavāns (he also worked on Dion’s song “Sīknauda”) and Edgars Vilcāns (he is from Ukraine, where worked the record company “Mozgi” and collaborated with such musicians as Nadya Dorofeeva, Nastya Kamenskykh, etc.). The lyrics are also written by Diona herself, but Grafomāns (Artūrs Breģis) revised the lyrics of the song, creating a correct phonetic sound.
A video clip was also made for the single, where the main idea is the daily run. “Running towards the other person, you have to encounter various problems along the way, but you have to deal with them. The context of the video, like the song itself, can be taken both literally and figuratively. Relationships sometimes also have complications that need to be overcome. The first and last frames of the video combine the initial disappointment and the fact that in the end everything is fine. Everything that happens in between is like a flashback of what you’ve been through, you could even say it’s a test of your patience , which pays off in the final shot when that person is met,” explains Dion’s team. The clip’s producer is Marta Būmane, the director is Helmuts Bondars.
The song “Pulksten 12″ is about a long-awaited moment, full of passion and positive emotions. “Surely everyone will have their own story that connects to this song, their own ’12 o’clock’ and their own ‘fireworks’, which are the keywords of the song. I like to write lyrics, so to speak,” through the flowers”, with some subtext, so that then the listeners can perceive them in a way that seems more appropriate, more engaging for each person. Maybe someone will think that this song is about the new year, why not?! Maybe a listener will use the imagination and will hear more intimate references in the song. It all depends on how a person feels himself in the sound of this song,” thinks Diona.
It should be noted that the singer with a lot of activity on social networks has also applied for her new stage name – from now on it will not be Diona Liepiņa, but simply Diona, and this name should be written in all caps (which nobody he’ll do it anyway…).
