The great actor Ivan Ivanov went through new life vicissitudes. The 70-year-old film legend has once again faced the insidious diagnosis of oral cancer, which struck him exactly 10 years ago. Although the star of the cult film “It’s All Love” managed to overcome the disease once and stabilized, she had to be operated on again after the disease relapsed. Following the recent surgery, she lost her voice completely, but is was already feeling good, though and drastically lost weight. And in this ordeal, his beloved wife Petya Silyanova was close to him.
This year the two celebrated their ruby wedding – 40 years since they were married. For 4 decades of married life, Petya and Ivan never parted. There are no scandals, quarrels and betrayals in their family life. The two met when they were young while studying together at VITIZ with Prof. Dimitrina Gyurova. At first, they were close friends studying etudes and roles together, and then their love kindled. In the 3rd year, they rehearsed Maxim Gorky’s “At the Bottom” exam show together, when they chose Ivan for the role in the cult film “Everything is Love”, which turned him into a megastar and sex symbol.
Even then she did not succumb to temptation and did not change her beloved, despite the intrusive admirers who did everything to separate them. They got married in 1982 in Sozopol. Shortly after the wedding, Petya gave him a son Stefan. From his previous marriage to a nurse, the movie idol has another son – Georgi. Ivan’s serious health problems make him and Petya an even closer family. For years, the two lived secluded in nature in the village of Oborishte near Panagyurishte. There they welcome children, friends and relatives, and Petya continues to travel to Sofia for work commitments, as she still acts in various theater productions and deals with dubbing.
However, there are also reasons for joy in their family. This spring, their common son Stefan gave them a grandson, whom he named after his famous father. With his 22-year-old girlfriend Polya, with whom they have a 15-year age difference in favor of him, they raise their heir in the capital, but often visit Stefan’s parents in Oborishte. Almost nothing is known about Ivan Ivanov’s daughter-in-law, except that she worked in restaurants. It was probably in a club that they met Stefan, with whom they have the same preferences for music. Polya impresses with an eccentric appearance and a significant amount of tattoos on her body.
Ivan Ivanov’s other daughter-in-law also prefers anonymity. His eldest son Georgi is a judge by profession and has one son. He and his brother Stefan have a very good relationship and regularly the whole family gets together to visit their parents in the house in Oborishte, writes “Retro”.
