Badung, CNBC Indonesia – United States (USA) President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping finally met in Bali. Lasting about 3.5 hours, many things were discussed by the two leaders of the country.
“I just met Xi Jinping in person from the People’s Republic of China. We had an open and honest conversation about our intentions and priorities,” he said after the meeting on Monday evening (11/14/2022).
“It was clear, he was clear, and I was clear, that he would defend American interests and values, promote universal human rights and defend international order, and work alongside our allies and partners,” he said.
Biden has not ignored the existence of competition between the two countries to become number one in the world. However, he makes sure everything runs smoothly without any conflicts. “We will compete vigorously, but I’m not looking for conflict, I want to handle this competitive responsibility,” she said.
The Taiwan issue was also discussed by Biden and Xi Jinping. Biden stressed that every country respects international traffic rules. “China’s policy has not changed. We propose to change the status quo unilaterally by both sides and are committed to maintaining the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait,” Biden said.

It is known that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in August prompted China to immediately step up military exercises. This activity immediately heated up the geopolitics of the Pacific region.
China has accused Pelosi’s visit of being a form of US provocation in support of Taiwan independence. China, in fact, considers Taiwan as its territory
The two figures also discussed the current situation in Russia and Ukraine. Biden stressed the inadmissibility of using nuclear weapons. “We discussed Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, reaffirming our shared belief that the threat or use of nuclear weapons is completely unacceptable,” she said.
Biden assures that everything discussed does not stop there. He asked Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to visit China to open lines of communication and discussion between the two and to follow up on their discussions in Bali.
