CD Projekt RED has just confirmed the release date for the next generation version of The Witcher 3. Gamers can get ready for a completely improved game that will take advantage of the potential of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
CD Projekt RED should complete work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The production has come a long way because while the version was originally developed by an external team, the finishing touches on the adventure were taken care of by the Polish studio’s in-house team.
Today we can confirm that the new edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on December 14, 2022. The developers will share more detailed information during a special stream next week, during which gameplay videos will also be shown.
Featuring the power of next-generation consoles and state-of-the-art PC hardware, CD Projekt RED’s award-winning RPG will feature dozens of visual, performance and technical improvements over the original. These include support for ray tracing, faster load times on consoles and a number of in-game mods, along with new add-on content inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series.
In addition to the release of the next generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch it will also receive an update with numerous additions and improvements, as well as Witcher-themed additional content from Netflix.
As CD Projekt RED previously reported, owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can look forward to a free upgrade on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC owners of the game will also receive the remastered edition for free.
