British prime minister and Italian prime minister arrive in Bali ahead of the G20 summit

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrives in Bali this evening. Sunak will join other leaders at the summit or G20 summit.

The moment Sunak arrived in Bali was uploaded to his Instagram account as seen on Monday (14/11/2022). Sunak was welcomed by Energy and Minerals Minister Arifin Tasrif and Bali Governor I Wayan Koster.

“We must continue the work that the G20 must do: to safeguard the global economy through the crises and put it back on a growth path,” Sunak wrote.

“Together we must act immediately,” Sunak continued.

The Italian premier Giorgia Meloni has also arrived in Bali. Meloni was welcomed by the Minister of Transport Budi Karya Sumadi and the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster.

In addition, UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Senegal President Macky Sall, Rwanda President Paul Kagame and Ms. Jeanette Kagame also arrived in Bali. Meanwhile, the leader of the international organization who arrived today is the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach.

Indonesian G20 summit

The G20 is a strategic multilateral platform connecting countries with the world’s major economies. G20 members represent over 80% of the world economy, 75% of international trade and 60% of the world’s population.

Forums G20 summit intensely carried out every year by presenting each head of state or head of government. Indonesia officially holds the presidency of the G20 this year after it was previously held by Italy.

In his leadership, Indonesia brings the spirit of recovery together with the theme “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”. There are three priority issues in Indonesia’s presidency of the G20, namely global health architecture, digital transformation and sustainable energy transition.

The G20 Indonesia Summit will be held in Bali on 15-16 November 2022. This event is the culmination of a series of G20 agendas under Indonesia’s presidency of the G20.
