However, this is not always sufficient to obtain the desired amount of vitamin D. Unlike many other types of supplements (eg supplements for athletes), even people who do not perform special activities can benefit from a vitamin D supplement.

Children up to 4 years old, pregnant women and the elderly need D supplements as a supplement.
