€120,000,000: The amount someone won at the Eurojackpot just over a week ago is hard to pin down. The lucky boy has now made contact: he lives in Berlin.

Berlin – The money will arrive in the next ten days: according to Lotto Berlin, reported the winner of the record German Lotto prize of 120 million euros. As spokesman Thomas Dumke announced on Monday morning, it concerns a person who lives in Berlin. “However, the person doesn’t want any more information about them to be known,” Dumke said. The money will be transferred in the next few days.

According to Dumke, the lucky reported last week in the administration building of the Berlin Lotto. More precise information has not been provided, so that no conclusions about the winner can be drawn from any observation of the building entrance. “The person really asked for absolute discretion,” Dumke said.

Redeemed just before the deadline

The Eurojackpot was hacked last Tuesday (November 8). With the winning numbers 15 – 17 – 23 – 35 – 38 and the two Euro numbers 4 and 9, a player was right for the first time after 16 draws without a main prize. In May, a trade union from North Rhine-Westphalia won €110m. The probability of winning the Eurojackpot is 1 in 140 million. The 20.50 euro Berlin winner’s ticket was handed over to a collection point in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district shortly before the closing date of 8 November.

Lotto Berlin generally advises winners to keep it secret. Usually no one has to be convinced to do this. “I’ve never seen a case of someone wanting to go big with the press. Most of them have to recover first,” Dumke said of dpa. After a winning ticket has been delivered to headquarters, it is secured there and the prize is deposited. Many of the winners would therefore have to deal with a new account first. “Of course, we advise against simply putting such a profit into a checking account,” Dumke said. In individual cases, Lotto Berlin takes care of the lucky ones for several weeks, but no financial and legal advice is offered. dpa
